What is the National Association of Realtors

The National Association of REALTORS (NAR) is a trade association for real estate professionals.

The NAR has 1 million members in the United States. Its members are involved in many parts of the real estate business, both on the residential and commercial side.

A REALTOR is a broker, salesperson, property manager, appraiser, counselor or other professional who has obtained the trademarked REALTOR designation.

The NAR's goal is to help real estate professionals become more profitable and successful. It has considerable influence in the housing industry, and the organization also funds workforce housing initiatives, smart-growth programs and foreclosure recovery programs.
