The U.S. League of Savings Institutions was a national organization of savings banks.
How it works (Example):
Founded in 1892, the U.S. League of Savings Institutions promoted banking standards, professionalism andimportant to its members. It also lobbied Congress for favorable legislation and offered public education programs.
Why it Matters:
The U.S. League of Savings Institutions merged with the National Council of Community Bankers in 1992, which became America's Community Bankers in 1995. The group has a close relationship with the American Banking Association (ABA).
