Tax Season

What it is:

Tax season is from January 1 to April 15 of each year.

How it works (Example):

Tax season is the busiest part of the year for tax accountants, because the filing deadline for individual taxpayers is April 15. It is also a busy time for businesses, individuals and any other entity that is required to file tax documents by the April 15 deadline.

Why it Matters:

Though most taxpayers file by April 15, tax season doesn't drop off to no activity after April 15. Taxpayers often file extensions, which generally expire on October 15.
